IN THE BOARD ROOM

Specialist makers of presentation and display equipment, teaching aids and school resources, TeacherBoards, have an extensive and vast range of products and services, as well as a solid commitment to customer care. We find out more..

Established in 1985, TeacherBoards have been working in education for over 20 years and now have over 50 employees throughout the UK. “We started off by producing a large range of presentation and display products, but over the years we have developed our offerings to include a wide range of educational support equipment such as, classroom furniture, teaching resources as well as sports and games,” explains managing director Scott Grant.

The company’s overwhelming drive has been twofold: to establish themselves as providing a comprehensive, one stop shop for schools; and providing exemplary customer care.

In the first instance they have split their provision across two catalogues, including one with a specific focus on primary schools which features everything from tables, chairs, dining room provision, projectors stands and teaching E Specialist makers of presentation and display equipment, teaching aids and school resources, , have an extensive and vast range of products and services, as well as a solid commitment to customer care. We find out more aids to sports equipment and games, administration and office equipment, notice boards and reception display boards.

The focus of the other catalogue is senior schools and higher / tertiary education, and includes exclusive products such as Column Board systems to use in conjunction with interactive technology to encourage “blended learning” and participation.

There is also a fully comprehensive website, which the company have heavily invested in, to ensure that schools can soon order everything online.

While the two catalogues and online ordering facilities provide customers with a number of options when buying, the company has still retained the personal aspect, recognising that a school’s needs are very specific. To address this, TeacherBoards has a dedicated sales team, and a separate customer care department which provides after sales help and advice, delivery information, support and assistance. “We have always felt it was important to look after our customers; that personal aspect is vital,” says Grant. “As specialists in education we understand the very precise and particular nature of schools and colleges – especially in terms of the processes they go through when purchasing. We know how valuable it can be to speak to someone who understands the unique way that schools work, and the very specific requirements they have. As such, our service is second to none, because schools can take for granted that we understand them and their needs. Many of our products have been developed in conjunction with schools and come “teacher recommended”.

In fact, this commitment to their customer means TeacherBoards not only provides an extensive product range, but can also develop bespoke products, retaining a manufacturing capability in house. The service the company offers is a well- rounded and dedicated one, working with the school from the first enquiry – providing complimentary services, including free site surveys, product demonstrations, installations – to well after a purchase with their specialised after-sales team.

TeacherBoards clearly understands how hard bursars and business managers work to build relationships with their suppliers, and knows how important good quality service is to them.

Grant concludes: “Our business philosophy is straightforward. Ourproduct range should be clear, the ordering and delivery process simple and a reliable after-sales service should exist. This commitment to total service is reflected in our order turnaround – which is amongst the best in the industry, knowledgeable staff, out of hours installations, an onsite advisory and design service and a bespoke manufacturing capability.”
